Comprehensive security and data integrity make the versadac ideal for use in regulated industries, such as pharmaceutical or heat treatment, or for any application where loss of data during a manufacturing process would result in loss of revenue through scrap or rework. Data is recorded in tamper resistant binary check summed files (known as UHH) and stored in on board flash memory. Flexible archiving strategies ensure long term data is kept secure for later retrieval and analysis if required.

The versatility of this unit comes from a flexible range of base sizes and selection of input and output modules to best suit specific application needs. A wide range of software features are available including batch control, maths functions, totalisers, communications channels and audit trail. Electronic signatures and password control functionality which meets the requirements of FDA 21 CFR Part 11 is also available. Upgrade of both software and hardware can be easily carried out on site ensuring the versadac recorder can grow with your process needs.

The versadac recorder is easy to integrate into wider systems with Modbus Master or Slave communications options. The modular equipment can also be distributed throughout the plant in best position to reduce installation and cabling costs.

Set up of the recorder is via the easy to use iTools PC software. Configurations can be saved and re-used and pre-configured modules are available to reduce engineering costs. This new package automates the production of survey reporting by combining the secure .uhh file data from a Field Test Instrument with the database management of Eurotherm Review. This directly produces reports which comply with the requirements of AMS2750F.

The report is created in 3 steps!

1. Using your Eurotherm graphical recorder of choice, collect relevant data pertaining to the survey.
2. Once you have collected the necessary data, transfer the data to your Review data management software. This can easily be done via removable media (USB & Compact flash), transfer to FTP server, or let Review connect to the recorder to pull data as necessary.
3. With all data collected and transferred into the Review database, you can now use the TUS software to generate your report and print.

Security Manager greatly reduces the cost and resource required to implement changes to secure systems by allowing the operation to be carried out from a central or multiple designated PC.

Security Manager is a centralized security system where User Names, Passwords and Access Permissions can be controlled. Designed to assist with Federal Regulation 21 CFR Part 11 for the Pharmaceutical Industry. Security Manager can also be used to aid users in meeting the guidance as detailed in GAMP4 Appendix 03 – Guidelines for Automated System Security.

Audit trail

Security Manager provides a tamper resistant audit trail for the following events.

• User Login/Logout
• Failed Login Attempts
• Saving configuration changes to the
• Security Manager Database
• Deployment of Security Manager
• Database

The Security Manager Audit Trail can be examined using Eurotherm Review Software.

Unique password

In order to ensure that user passwords remain unique throughout the life cycle of the product, retired user IDs are retained.

Electronic signatures

The use of electronic signatures within Security Manager is configurable, if enabled, users are required to enter signing and/or authorization signatures for updating the Security Manager Database. If signatures are required only those users with appropriate access permissions are able to sign and/or authorize.

Archived Data files can be transferred to the Review database in one or more ways, either by using a network connection or reading directly from the unit’s removable media. Once transferred the data can be

used to recreate charts, and spreadsheets for viewing and if necessaryprinting.

Auto Backup and Transfer, and/or Scheduled Transfer from folders canbe set up as a Windows service.

All event messages can be viewed. Process data can be presented as a spreadsheet containing both messages and PV data.

Database Control

File Menu selections are available to provide control of the Review database, these are as follows:

Select Database – This allows a user to select an existing review database.

New Database – This allows a user to request that a new empty database be opened.

Maintain Database – Allow the archiving of data to an archive database.

Set Default Database – This allows the user to set the current databaseas the default database,which is used when Review is initially opened.

Database Properties – This allows the user to view details of the currently opened database.

Auto Archive – Provides the ability to automatically delete data older than a specified age.

There is no need to transfer files into a database – the user can open these directly into the Review QuickChart application. A user can also create a chart, annotate it and resave the chart – the new chart will be created in an encrypted (urq) format so that the additional annotation is secured along with the original data. This single file can then be simply emailed without the need to send multiple files (original data files and chart definition) for another user to view the chart.
Review QuickChart can be used Standalone or with Review. It is supplied with Review as standard.

The Eurotherm nanodac™ recorder/controller offers four channels of precision analogue batch recording, easily meeting the requirements of regulators for accuracy and repeatability, and data logging requirements of 21 CFR 11. For more demanding applications, the Versadac recorder provides a back of panel solution with almost unlimited capacity. Both allow alarm and discrete input logging, communications with other devices, results available in the data record, electronic signatures and batch data recording.

EtherNET/IP Client or Server mode

Available as an option, the nanodac recorder/controller can be easily integrated with an existing instrument network and act as local data historian. When enabled, EtherNet/IP allows the nanodac to act as either a Client or a Server and provides data recording for up to 30 process parameters (via virtual channels). EtherNet/IP provides two user pages, the first is an overview of all the process parameters (data points) being addressed via the communications. The second is a diagnostics page that can be used during initial setup and commissioning, to test the connection, between the Client and/or Server.

3 x Isolated DC Outputs (DDD)

This release provides support for Isolated DC Outputs in option slots OP1, OP2 and OP3. Please refer to the Installation sheet or User Guide for wiring instructions.

Washdown Front

An optional IP66 rated Wash-down bezel has been made available in this release, making the nanodac suitable for applications in Food & Beverage or CIP/SIP.

Crystal clear, colour display

The 3.5” TFT display offers incredibly clear visualisation of process parameters with a wide selection of configurable views to best suit the application. Views include: Horizontal and vertical trends; Horizontal and vertical bar graphs; Numeric; Alarm panel, Alarm status, and control loops. The unit also provides user wiring from the front of the product for detailed configuration without the need to connect to a PC.

Data Acquisition and Recording

The nanodac recording functionality utilises the secure strategies and UHH format developed by Eurotherm through years of recording expertise. As well as multiple real-time views and historical review on the product, multiple data archiving strategies are provided utilising the 50MB onboard Flash memory, removable USB and data transfer via FTP to a specified server.

The four universal input channels provide high accuracy (suitable for use in Nadcap applications) and 125ms parallel sampling. An additional 30 virtual channels can be utilised to provide maths, counter, slave communications and totaliser functionality within the instrument.

Eurotherm Data Reviewer is the ideal choice for the viewing, analysis and printing of historical data files acquired from Eurotherm data acquisition equipment.

PID Control Loops

The nanodac instrument can also provide two independent control loops (optional). This control functionality utilises the advanced Eurotherm PID algorithm providing high performance and reliability to your process. Functionality includes one of the best autotune facilities available along with overshoot inhibition (cutbacks); compensation for power fluctuations using power feedforward; linear, fan, oil and water cooling.

Heat Treatment is one of the many processes that often need to vary the setpoint of the control process over a set period of time; this is achieved by using a set-point program. The nanodac offers an optional Dual Programmer supporting up to 100 programs locally, each program supporting 25 segments. The nanodac also provides remote access to a further 100 programs that can be easily retrieved via FTP or USB memory stick.

Dream Report software incorporates a Eurotherm Review driver and report template enabling historical data to be obtained from devices such as 6000 Series graphical recorder, T2550 Programmable Automation Controller and Eycon TM Visual Supervisor.  Data can be collected either automatically over an Ethernet network or manually with removable media.

A robust communications kernel is installed enabling the collection of data and alarms from multiple real-time and historical sources – utilizing OPC, OLE and ODBC standards to ensure a common interface between sources from different suppliers.

Report Generation

In automatic mode, report generation and distribution can be triggered by an event or advanced scheduling.  In manual mode, an additional application (Dynamic Report GeneratorTM – DRG) provides for adjustment of the report schedules or the generation of a demand report at any time.

Data Logging

Dream Report software, with its powerful historian, logs by groups, data and alarms from:

• OPC servers.
• Other connected realtime sources – ODBC, OLE etc.
• Analytical information as defined in reports.

With unlimited groups set up with specific logging conditions for each group, clean and accurate data is obtained and logged by default on MSDE from SQL Server.  Other open databases such as Oracle, MySql, Access or Eurotherm Information Manager can also be utilized.

Objects

• Text representation: Enables the extraction and display analysis from historian databases such as a Review database.
• Tables: Multiple options to extract data and alarms into different tables.  Users can select pre-formatted tables or create their own with the SQL table.
• Bars and pies: Bar graphs and pie charts to display various statistical values and alarms with advanced visualization views (%, legend, values etc).
• Charts: Users can define time based XY charts.  They can combine charts from different time frames to visualize and compare results quickly. Moreover, the chart object supports different types of data – value, average value, linear regression.  Users can display and adjust multiple scales automatically or manually.

Bridge Lite provides the user with remote, live viewing functionality. All standard 5000 and 6000 displays and instrument history can be viewed as an independent operator interface.

Bridge Full gives total access to a 5000 or 6000 instrument – including viewing of data, operation and configuration.

Operators only have to learn one interface as the ‘look and feel’ of the product via Bridge is exactly the same as via the instrument display. Each user can have a specific User Name and Password with customized security access – allowing anything from just viewing data to controlling batches or full configuration permissions. The user can also view, create and edit custom graphic screens to give the best possible view of the process. (Requires User screen option to be enabled on the product.)
